Hall of Fame Dinner
Wow, it has been an extremely busy summer. I am so excited for our players to get back on campus on August 25th! I miss all of them very much! This summer has gone by so fast. My staff and I have been very productive this summer with recruiting, camps, and preparation for the 2010-2011 basketball season!
Last week I attended the Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame where they introduced Jerilynn Harper Carroll who is a tremendous person, and was a great basketball player at Tennessee Tech University. I was accompanied to the event by our Athletic Director Mark Wilson, Assistant Coach Stacey Franklin, and Athletic Committee Director Steve Smith. We all enjoyed a delicious dinner, and had the pleasure of witnessing one of the all-time greats at TTU get enshrined into a prestigious Hall of Fame.
Jerilynn led the nation in scoring as a senior with 26.8ppg, and was a two time parade All-American! Her career here at Tech was tremendous not only on the court but in the classroom as well! We here at Tennessee Tech are very proud of Jerilynn, and all of our past student-athletes. It makes us proud to see so many Eagles doing well in their journeys through life!
At the ceremony I also caught up with a good friend of mine, and ESPN analyst Carolyn Peck. She was also inducted into the Knoxville Hall of Fame, so I wanted to give her a shout out, congratulations Carolyn!
It was a night to remember, and I look forward to attending more events like these for future Golden Eagles!

Summer School!
We spent Memorial Day together helping everyone move into the dorms for summer school! Started with the freshman (So happy to finally have them on campus!) then sophomores and finally the veteran juniors. Some of the freshman brought the entire house! Briana brought almost a full size refrigerator! Then we celebrated everyone being here by having a little cookout. It was great to have the families and team together. Looking forward to an exciting June with everyone!
Coach Messer in HAWAII!!!
Aloha!
I'm back from Hawaii. The whole Messer family was together relaxing in paradise. We spent a
lot of time on the beautiful beaches and got a little tan. We took a ride underwater in a submarine and saw a lot of cool things doing that. We of course went to a luau and did a little belly dancing! ha. Last but not least we ate in a beautiful restaurant that rotated with a view of Waikiki!
Glad to be back though! The freshman are coming to campus finally!!! We got camps coming up and July recruiting! Hawaii was the perfect place to relax with the fam before we got busy again. Aloha! Go TTU!

WNBA comes to town!!!
On gameday the players were all ushers. They all wore bright usher t-shirts, and directed people to their seats, and handed out programs. Tacarra was sending people to the wrong seats! We think everyone else did okay. Except for Kat. She was security on the floor and wasn't quite intimidating enough. HAHA!
The game went well. It was great having a TTU legend, Coach Meadors, back on campus. She is the person that started the tradition of TTU Women's Basketball. We thank everyone who helped put together such a great event on our campus. Thanks also to all the fans that showed up and supported women's basketball!
